Storage
- Store your piece in the hat box it arrived in — it's sized to preserve the brim and crown shape.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent fabric and ribbon fading.
- Avoid humid rooms. Moisture damages feathers, sinamay, and adhesives.
- Store delicate feather fascinators flat if possible.
- Keep jewelry in a soft pouch or box so crystal pavé doesn't scratch.
Cleaning
- Soft, dry cloth only. Never water, soap, or cleaning solutions on feathers, sinamay, or crystals.
- Dust felt or straw with a soft-bristle hat brush.
- Buff crystal and rhinestone pieces gently with a microfiber cloth to restore sparkle.
- Never submerge jewelry — pavé settings trap moisture.
- For stubborn marks, contact Amy rather than cleaning at home.
Handling & wear
- Handle hats by the brim, not the crown.
- Adjust fascinator elastic gently — don't overstretch it.
- Put your piece on last, after hair and makeup.
- Avoid rain — sinamay and straw are not waterproof.
- On windy days, secure with hat pins or fashion tape. If a crystal loosens, save it — we can reset it.
Travel
- Pack hats in their original box inside your carry-on — never in checked luggage.
- For fascinators, a rigid hat box is best; otherwise stuff with tissue and wrap loosely.
- Jewelry travels in a hard case or padded pouch. Clasp chain bracelets before packing.
